Medical Student
Hi, I'm Rishi! I'm a second year medical student at Newcastle University. I have a lot of experience tutoring GCSE students and I am interested in helping students to build their confidence and their understanding of both GCSE Biology and Chemistry. I aim to make my lessons fun and tailored to what you as the student need. I know everyone has different ways they prefer to learn so I am more than happy to let the students guide how the sessions go. I want to help you tackle difficult topics in Biology and Chemistry so that they can become much simpler and more manageable before we can move on to applying what we have learnt to exam questions. Learning the exam content is only one aspect required to tackle GCSE questions, I also want to help you improve your exam technique show that you can show off what you know to the examiner. I achieved 9 grade 9s and 1 grade 8 at GCSE including 95% in GCSE Chemistry, and 85% in GCSE Biology. I have also achieved A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Drama & Theatre Studies. I scored a 2960 in the UCAT which placed me in the top 10% and from there I began my journey in medical school. So whether you want to build your level of understanding of certain topics or you want to learn how to tackle exam questions, I am more than happy to help!
Maths and Statistics student
I am a patient and results driven tutor with over 2 years of tutoring experience, ranging from Year 9 to A-Levels. I am a 2nd year currently studying Maths, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics (MORSE) at the University of Warwick, ending my first year on a 1:1 (75%). I also hold 2 A*s in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics and 2 As in Economics and Computer Science. I also have 10 GCSEs, with my average grade of 8.4. Through my years of experience, I have gained a strong understanding of both the curriculum and exam technique, and I aim to help build student's confidence around the subject to get them as prepared as possible for the final exams. From my experience, I know that every child learns differently, so I tailor my tutoring for each of my students specifically so that I can help them learn their best.
Maths tutor
Hi, I'm George and I am a student studying for a degree in biochemistry at The university of Hull. With my tutoring, each lesson, the student will receive the support they need to reach their goals, along with being appropriately challenged to remain engaged. From tutoring my brother throughout his GCSEs and tutoring many more students since, I have learnt that an understanding and patient demeanour can create an atmosphere of comfortabilty and confidence. In terms of what a session would look like, it would begin with various questions from topics previously covered, in order to test the recall of the student. Following this we would move onto new content with in depth explanations and relevant questions throughout. Towards the end of the session we will do a brief summary on what we have covered along with questions ranging in difficulty to determine the progress made. Finally me and the student will have a discussion as to where we both think they could improve and if there is anything they would like to lightly recap or potentially have another session on.
